From the President
"Hello and welcome to our new home on the web! Music is an activity like no other; it reaches that part of us that other things can’t speak to. Being involved in music can create a sense of camaraderie with other singers, a feeling of accomplishment in learning and performing a variety of musical genres and an outlet for getting rid of the stress of the day. I’ve been privileged to be part of this community's music making endeavors for the past 25 years.
Classic Arts Programs is in a unique position, bringing a variety of live choral and instrumental chamber music to our audiences; as we continue to create, the quality we bring to our community continues to improve. Through my experience serving as the President of Classic Arts Programs, I have learned to run a thriving non-profit organization and embrace the many roles that go along with this position. I’ve learned to care for the members and families represented in our choirs as well as our incredibly supportive donors and audiences.
Just as I have grown, so have our programs. The Lakeland Youth Chorale has grown from 11 members in 2011 to 30+ members in 2017, expanding from one large group to three smaller, individualized choirs within the larger ensemble. Our adult choir continues to draw from a consistent pool of singers while allowing new members to join for one or more concerts each season. We continue to expand our concert selections by collaborating with other choirs and local instrumentalists as well. If you like to sing, join us! If you enjoy choral music, there are many opportunities to support us! Let’s continue to offer excellent choral opportunities to the people of Kosciusko County.

The First Note
Reverend Richard Anderson Started the Warsaw Community Choir in 1984 to promote the performance of Handel's Messiah and other sacred works by Community Singers in conjunction with the Grace Community Orchestra. From this experience, Classic Arts Programs was established in 1991 by Reverend Anderson.
In 2001, the Lakeland Youth Chorale was created to provide high-quality choral instruction to children outside of their school and church experiences.
Classic Arts Programs, Inc. exists to enhance cultural and spiritual life in the Warsaw area through the quality performance of diverse choral works, enabling singers of all ages to grow musically and personally through the rehearsal process and other activities.
singing together offers a place for healing, encouragement, acceptance, and genuine friendship
it reaches that part of us that other things can't speak to
From the Conductor
John Rutter, composer, conductor and a strong advocate for the importance of music and singing commented, “Music brings together all the different bits of us in a way that I don't think any other art quite does. It speaks to everybody in a different way. I can't imagine one single day of my life without it”. To have opportunity to express thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and passions through music with others, is a gift. I too, echo Rutter’s thoughts—I can’t imagine my life without music!
Singing together offers a place for healing, encouragement, acceptance, and genuine friendship. During my tenure as conductor, I have personally experienced each of these benefits with this group. This group has provided space for me to grow as a choral conductor, musician, and person, while experiencing, performing, and offering great music together to our community!

"Words are inadequate to express what a blessing it was to me to sing in the choir shortly after my husband's death. The music and fellowship were balms to my spirit as only music can be, and the words and melodies still resonate in my mind. Keep making music--how this world needs people like you to lift us up above the turmoil and strife that surrounds us these days! God bless you."
